About Digital Citizenship Africa

We are a continental movement helping every African use the internet safely, wisely and with confidence. We start with children, and we reach everyone, because online safety is a life skill for all ages, not a lesson for the young alone.

Our story

Across Africa, hundreds of millions of people came online in a single generation, most of them through a phone, and almost none of them taught the rules of this new world. The result is everywhere: scams that drain hard-earned money, false stories that spread faster than the truth, and children growing up online without a guide.

Digital Citizenship Africa exists to close that gap. We were founded on a simple belief: that the same care a society puts into teaching a child to cross the road, it should put into teaching everyone to move safely through digital life. We build the lessons, the games, the books and the tools that make that possible, in a voice that is genuinely African, for audiences from the classroom to the marketplace.

Our mission

To equip Africans of every age with the knowledge, values and practical skills to thrive safely and responsibly online, and to leave no one behind in the process.

Our vision

An Africa where being online is a source of opportunity and confidence rather than risk, and where digital citizenship is as ordinary as literacy itself.

The five values behind everything we make

S

Safe

We protect ourselves and others online.

R

Respectful

We treat everyone with kindness and respect.

F

Fair

We are honest and do what is right.

I

Inclusive

We include others and value differences.

E

Empowered

We use technology to learn, grow and make impact.

This is not a promise. It is already built.

DCA is not asking the world to fund an idea. We arrive with a finished system, tested and ready. That is the difference between a proposal and a programme.
